I noticed that when i installed tinyportal it put a link the user profile menu bad for tiny portal.  How do i remove this?

thank you

IchBin

Sorry but I do not understand "user profile menu bad for tinyportal". Could you elaborate? If you provide the information requested when you create a new topic it will help us to help you faster. Right now I don't even know which version of SMF or TP you are using...

Mairek

guess i was in a bit of a hurry there.

I use tinyportal 1.0 final on smf 2.0.2

When I installed tinyportal it adds a section in the user profile menu for tinpyportal.  SO it says profile info, modify profile, actions, and tinyportal.  I don't want users to have a tinyportal link when they select profile from the main menu bar.  You can see the tinyportal link in the image below

In Sources/TPSubs.php find this code:
function TP_fetchprofile_areas2($memID)
{
global $context, $scripturl, $txt, $user_info, $smcFunc;

Add return; after it like this:
function TP_fetchprofile_areas2($memID)
{
global $context, $scripturl, $txt, $user_info, $smcFunc;
        return;

That should remove the menu from the profile I think.

Sorry about bumping an old topic, but this doesnt seem to be the fix anymore for this.  We are on the latest version of tinyportal and this code above seems to already be there with a bunch of if tags.  How do i achieve removing this menu once more?

Also, how do you remove the tinyportal section in a users profile?

I've always wondered why someone would want to remove that TinyPortal menu in the profile.  There is really nothing dangerous about it.  The only things it allows one of your members to see are articles they submitted, files they have uploaded, and shouts they have made.  Sometimes it is even beneficial for your members to see these things.  If they have no articles, uploaded files, or shouts, they will simply see zero for those items.

In any case, if you upgraded to a newer version of TinyPortal, the TPSubs.php file would have been replaced so the "return;" that Ichbin mentioned above would no longer be in there after the global declaration if you had indeed added it in there when using a previous version.  Did you actually download that file to your local computer and check to see if the "return;" is there?  If it isn't, then add it again and save, and then upload and replace the file and that TinyPortal menu should be gone once again.  Make backups first of course.

Hi im having the same issue been trying to remove the link now for ages and still no luck. Im running smf 2.0.4 and the latest TP, i tried what you mentioned about adding return but still no luck. So any ideas would be great as this is really starting to bug me.

Update: i managed to fix the issue i just had to remove:
// TinyPortal
require_once($sourcedir. '/TPmodules.php');
tp_getprofileareas($profile_areas);

From profile.php, i dont know how i missed it but now im happy. :)
