I noticed that when I go into settings and have it checked to allow the WYSIWYG editor that it will let me choose that.....but when I then go below and edit the space by choosing to show the html editor it does but defaults to no right after I save it...

same for editing the categories in downloads area too, once they are saved it reverts back to no for showing the editor

how can I fix this to stay on

The option to show or hide the editor on the page is only for toggling it. It's not for saving the state of the editor. If you want the editor off or on by default you have to save the option in TP Admin settings, or in the TP options in your profile.

really?? it used to retain the editor open before, honest it did...lol

in TP admin settings area there is no place to set it, of course I may be looking in wrong spot too, see first image.

In downloads settings I do have it set and as you can see it is not retained below like it is everywhere else....image 2

It's in the TPAdmin > articles section of menu > settings. If the option to use the wysiwyg editor is on, then you can check what your profile is set to in Profile > TinyPortal > Articles > Settings. I'd suggest you click save in your profile to make sure your wysiwyg editor settings is indeed saved. I've seen some quirks because of that, but have never seen it consistently show.

Just tried this on my testsite, wysiwyg editor is on in articles > settings, and on in my profile, but the editor still defaults to off so have to toggle it on again. (this was in downloads section).

Works ok with articles though.  Although, for some reason, no matter what you have articles> settings set to, on / off it makes no difference, it seems to be controlled completely by the setting in profile.  (in other words the profile setting completely overrides the articles > "Use the WYSIWYG editor" setting.

You sneaky little critters to put it in my profile where I would not have thought to look...

went there, save to yes and now it stays open in the downloads editor...never had a problem with the articles part showing and staying with editor open....just downloads

but now tis fine, thanks guys

That's the way it should be. You have the option as a user to not use the editor if the admin has enabled it. If the admin turns the editor off you can not change it in your profile.

That's good to know that the members have it in their power too to be able to not use it.
