Remove smilies from articles editor

Every time I go to use the editor my CPU fan goes mad, OK within SMF but can be quite scary in TP editor, how can I turn them off in TP?

The smilies affect your CPU fan? lol I've never heard of that before. In the TP_bbcbox() function in TPSubs.php, you might be able to comment the <div> for the smileybox out. I'm not sure how it affects it if it's not there though.

This pc has done it regularly ever since I got it, certain sites/pages make it go crazy.

This looks like it might be an antivirus software related problem. If it's an old PC it can happen.

Just downloaded Chrome, not anywhere near as bad as Firefox, I reckon it is the Browser straining the old girl.
