Is there any way to show the sidebar in the category's but not in the thread? When I select "display on all boards" it shows in the threads, or if I select a category it shows in the threads for that category as well.

IchBin

Sorry, there is no option to only display in topics.

But there is the option to hide the sidebar. Show/Hide whenever you want isn't that hard.

IchBin

Yes but it is only for actions. (action=profile etc) It's not for any $_GET variable. There'd have to be more custom coding to get such a feature to work.

I found this thread while searching to see if my next question had been answered - I really could have done with a way of displaying a block when "topic=" is on the address line.  I have created a keyword system for topics.  For normal users, they have a block that only opens when they are modifying a post in their own topic, tied to action=post.   But as admin I rather liked the idea of being able to tweak the keywords when just sitting with the topic open :D

I have got it so I can do that, but the block sits there cluttering my screen telling me "no topic selected, cannot use keyword feature here" all the time lol!

Yes, we have something similar set up on this site.  For instance, when you reply to a post, the block at the top which says ...
When Asking for Support
Please attach the following information
to your first post in a new topic

... shows only with the post action.  As Ichbin said, there is just no way to do what you want with the code as it is currently written.  Very few people have asked for such an option like you are asking for.  If it is something that you would really like to see, you could add an issue to our bugtracker as a Feature Request for a future version of TinyPortal and we can take a look at what it would take to add something like this to the code in some future version but it certainly won't be added in the near future, for instance, not in TP1.  To add a Feature Request, check out the bugtracker --> http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?project=1
