Can someone please tell me the steps required to give permission to write articles to a normal user? While I am at it, what the heck is an "ungrouped member"? All members are in a group. (Either a newbie or a hero member, but they are all groups). Anyway, I did the obvious thing and went to the tiny portal permission page and gave ungrouped members the premission to write html articles, but  that did not work.

Thanks in advance.

There's a difference between groups and post groups. The newbie/hero groups are based soley upon post count. Ungroups members are users who are not in any member group (not post group). Allowing members to submit articles is done in the permissions page in the TP admin as you stated. Just tested it, and it works fine for me.

How did you test it?

What steps did you follow?

It does not work for me.

I suspect that there is an interaction between the tiny portal permissions and the smf permissions?

I have a test user on my forum. I add them to the ungrouped group, then select that member group in the permissions. Refreshing the page shows the create article link in the userbox which I can then click on to add an article.

From what I understand there isn't any connection to SMF permissions with TP permission, as they are stored in a separate place and handled separately.
