Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is a problem at all, but i can't find a way to disable it.
Well, (Recent Tab) disabling avatar it shows the order number. Is it possible to disable it?

Take a look at the screenshot below:

Thanks in advance.

Hi mj,  I had this problem myself a while back, and also noticed it on other sites.  IchBin posted a fix for me that worked.

TPsub.template.php:

Find:
            if(!$w['new'])
                echo $coun. ' <a href="'.$w['href'].'"><img src="'. $settings['images_url'].'/'.$context['user']['language'].'/new.gif" alt="new" /></a> ';

Replace with:
            if(!$w['new'])
                echo  ' <a href="'.$w['href'].'"><img src="'. $settings['images_url'].'/'.$context['user']['language'].'/new.gif" alt="new" /></a> ';

mj,

Welcome to the TP Support Site.

I'm not sure if Ichbin plans to fix this in a future version of TinyPortal.  However, you should be aware that this feature is only an indication of how many new messages your members will have on your Forum.  At first glance, it may seem like a nuisance but I assure you that it doesn't affect the performance of the Forum and, in any case, the numbers disappear as soon as your members have read the latest new messages.

Hey guys,

Thank you. :)

@lurkalot
Really useful. I thought this is a feature, not a bug.

@ZarPrime
I'm confused because this is not the number of new messages but the order number.
Well, this is not about the performance, i don't like it, kinda annoying.

Mark it as solved. Thank you guys, nice support team ;)

IchBin

It's just a counter number. When the code iterates over each of the messages the counter increments by 1. The code fixed I provided just removed what was probably debug code that Bloc added at one time. Glad you got it fixed. :)
