Hey... me again.
How do you uninstall TP?

I have looked in the 'Downloaded Packages' but it isn't there and I can't find out where it should be.
If I try to install the new version it gives a load of 'test failed' errors.

IchBin

mobyfiles, please start separate topics for different issues. Thanks.

What version of TinyPortal are you using? What version of SMF are you using?

If you're using TP 0.9.8 you'll have to download the zip from your packages directory and open the package-info.xml file and add 1.1.12 or 1.1.13 to the uninstall section. What happened is that you upgraded SMF to a version that the mod doesn't have instructions to uninstall for. Once you've changed the file you can re-zip and upload the package and replace the file in your Packages directory. You should then see the uninstall link.

OK Thanks. I'm using 0.9.8 and just upgraded to 1.1.13.
I did that, and rezipped it and uploaded it back..... but no uninstall link?

I suppose you could not be a bit more specific on how to edit the xml file..... and where to add these numbers. Thanks for the help.

mobyfiles,

After extracting the TP 0.98 zip file, look inside it for a file called "package-info.xml".  That's the one you will need to edit.

I don't have a TP 0.98 package that I can look at right now but look for a line that says something like ...

Code (Find) Select

<uninstall for="1.1, 1.1.1-1.1.10">

It might not say that exact thing.  Anyway, you will want to edit it so that it says ...

Code (Replace) Select

<uninstall for="1.1, 1.1.1-1.1.13">

Then save the file and zip up the package again.  Then just do as Ichbin suggested and upload the package again.  If you still don't have the uninstall link in the Package Manager, you might try clearing the cache in your browser and opening up the page again.

If you still have a problem, attach the "package-info.xml" file to another post here so that one of us can take a look at it.

No dice, I'm afraid.
Incidentally the line was <uninstall for="1.1., 1.1.1-1.1.99"> Surely this would count every version until 1.1.99?

I've cleared cookies and gone back to installed packages but the link is not there.

How did you upgrade? Did you do the upgrade through the admin panel? Or did you upload the files? It sounds like your installed.list file may have been replaced or altered removing the fact that SMF thinks TP is installed. You may have to do a manual uninstall by going through the instructions, or just replace all your SMF files with new ones which will remove all mods in able for you to install them again.
