I think this is not a new problem when i install the TP the forum becomes Narrow. i failed to change the permission of my site enable the guest to browse so its useless to post the link of my site, but i manage to screenshot the portion of the problem

If you want to you don't have to show both left or right panels when in the forum itself.  For example you could just show the left panels.  Or no side panels at all, so your forum will be full width again.

That's how mine is set up.  I hate narrow forums. lol..

maybe i can hide the panels in the forum, yeah its your right its very irritating to have narrow forum. but i just wonder if there solution without taking out the panels?

lurkalot

Well to be honest there's only so much you can fit on your screen.  And all screens are different sizes.

If you look at this forum for example, you'll see only the left hand blocks are showing.  And that's even narrowing the forum a bit.

In your screen grab, the image in your forum post is wider than the forum which is why you're getting the scroll bar below it.

You're not being stubborn,  O0  Seriously, it's a good question, and no doubt others will have different opinions on this.   You might get some other solutions posted here yet, so keep an eye on it. ;)

By the way, what screen size and resolution are you using??

reyver

im using 1440x990 screen resolution

If you want both the left and right panels, the only other thing you can do is make your panel widths smaller but that won't help much.  As lurkalot says, there is only so much real estate.  Alternatively, you can use the other panels (upper, lower, top and bottom) to display the content that you now have in the left and right panels and just turn those off in the Forum.  If the problem is just the width of the images in the Forum, there are settings in your SMF Admin section that will allow you to limit the size of the images so that you won't have the horizontal scrollbars.

Also, we can't really tell how much gutter space is on the left and right just from looking at your screenshot but if the content doesn't extend all the way to the left and right, your custom theme probably has some css that controls this.  If that is what is happening, you could ask the author of your custom theme how to set the width to 100%.

That's all I can think of.
