They have a non stop DDOS attack that keeps hitting SMF's overload settings keep the server from crashing. That's why the message appears about it being down randomly throughout the day.

Ahhh, I've seen the high stress messages and heard about the DDOS attack that caused them.  I thought they almost had that licked with their security fixes so was surprised when was totally down for me for a couple hours so thought there might have been more.
