Move topmenu / navigation into a specific block?

Well, i just want to show the top menu (that one with the Help, Search, Logout - links) in a seperate block on my sidebar. How can i do that? Where is this topnavi built in the code?

Well, you could try putting the following into a php block ...

ssi_menubar();


though I can tell you that it won't look very good because the code is designed to display the menubar horizontally rather than vertically.  However, one of our coders, maybe Freddy, may be able to give you some tips on how you could put some formatting in there to make it display vertically properly.  As I said, it doesn't really look very good but if you look in the right panel on my test site, and scroll down to the block right titled "Menu test", you'll see what it looks like.  The link to my test site is --> http://talesofthehavenexpanse.com/smf2test/index.php

Take a look at this topic, you should be able to adapt that to suit your needs once you remove the main menu.  You'll see the code in an attachment...
