Some strange error

When you altered your tables, did you check that all the tables and fields have the same collation?

That is the problem. They all need to be the same.

Another thing. I just installed a fresh copy of SMF 2 RC4 with TP RC1 and it gives the same error.
Is there a way to change this?
Also i checked on my other forum and there is also difrent collation's. And that site works.

It seems strange. THe forums i use on IXwebhosting is fine they use the following
utf8_general_ci
latin1_swedish_ci

On the server i with the errors the database has the following collations. Hostgator
utf8_general_ci
utf8_unicode_ci

I tried to host only my database with IXwebhosting but still the same.

I think it's because of what is implied when nothing is specified as well. I don't know why or even how things are treated from one hosts installation to another. At this point, all you need to do to fix it is to change them to be the same collation.
