Articles and Selected Topics - Sorted By Date

Hi,

I'm currently doing some work in my forum and want to migrate it to 2.0, so I did a copy of it and trying everything out. In the copy I've also updated tinyportal. (So it's no use sending you the website link, it's running on the old version)

The thing is, until now all our news were posted as articles, but I'm thinking that making selected topics (as I can choose in the settings) and articles would be better, so I can keep the old news, and the new ones would be posted as topics, in order to make things easier and getting more interactivity.

So, after trying it out I've seen that the topic gets posted after all the existing articles. Making it useless. Is there any way to make things appear sorted by date in the frontpage timeline?

Update:

One of my mods has the opposite happening. While I see the articles and then (after some pages) the topic. She just sees the topics and none of the articles.

Now how does that make sense?

Alright, after the upgrade mods didn't have permision to see any kind of articles (but members had...  )

Fixed that, now the see the same as me.

Which brings me back to the first question, "is there any way to sort articles and topics" so they make sense?

What I did was put them in different blocks then arrange the blocks.  If you want to arrange individual articles or topics, that are displayed in the same block, the only way to do it atm is change the date.  Or you can put one article or topic in each block and arrange them that way.  But you lose the feature of having new articles show up automatically.  Every time you want to add an article or topic, you would have to create a block.
