There was an issue with strange characters showing up. I can remember the topic but not the solution. I believe it was ultimately a SMF issue but could have been a TP one.

If I remember correctly, there was a db query that was used to solve it? My memory is failing so I could be wrong...  :2funny:

Anyways, one of my users at SMFArcade is having the same issue but with the comments to the arcade. The comments are based on whatever language the user has their site set to. He uses Greek UTF8. For some reason, I keep thinking agridoc was involved in that issue as well but could be wrong.

Thanks for any advice. :)

So is the comments posting weird characters? Or is it something to do with an upgrade or change that is creating the characters? If it's posting weird characters I don't know what the fix was. But if it was from some change or upgrade, there should be a simple query to search for the character and replacing it with the proper one.

I'm not sure if he was getting the weird chars before an upgrade or not. I do know he installed the arcade and saw asking but he is not sure if the chars existed before then or not. This was the first time this has happened so I assumed it was a UTF8/language issue of sorts.

I was just hoping it would jog someone's memory. Thanks, I'll try the query search.

Hi Skhilled, I did try searching for the answer for you, but came up blank.   Did you by any chance post to the topic you mentioned?  Maybe a check through your posts might reveal the answer.  There's only 604 to go through. lol..  :P

I was hoping that agridoc would see this and reply, but I haven't seen him about for a couple of days.  I'm sure he will pop in soon.  ;)

I did search before I asked but didn't find anything either. I'm thinking it might have been something that was going on during beta testing and was why I seem to remember agridoc having something to do with it.
