Is Frontpage a fixed part of Tinyportal?
If not, how can i turn off Frontpage so that it goes straight to forum.  and does NOT duplicate HOME, and FORUM.

If it is a fixed part of tinyportal, is it possible that I can Rename the "HOME" link and also have that link redirected to another url?   (Im using forums as part of a site, so i would like some way to get back to the site.)

Hi Shane, welcome to TinyPortal.

To go directly to the forum try this to see if it gives what you need:

TP Admin>Settings & Frontpage>Frontpage>What to display on frontpage:>Go directly to forum index

Hi Shane,

Welcome to the TP Support Site.

As Ken mentioned, you can go directly to the Forum Index my changing the setting he mentioned.  However, if you do this, both the "Home" button and the "Forum" button will go to the Forum Index, though you can have different blocks setup for "Home" and "Forum".

Perhaps a brief explanation about just how TinyPortal works when installed is in order and I will attempt to explain it now.  On a standard SMF install, before installing TinyPortal, the Home button is all you will see.  You won't see a Forum button.  the Home button at this point takes you to the Forum BoardIndex, for instance http://yoursite.com/SiteFolder/index.php

Once you install TinyPortal, that same url will become the FrontPage of your site and the Forum button will be added so that you can easily get to the Forum in case you want to setup a specialized FrontPage that doesn't show the Forum BoardIndex on it.  So, TinyPortal uses both the "Home" and "Forum" buttons.  If you want to setup a tab (or a button as you might call it) in SMF 2.0 RC3 to get to another page, like a Main site page, you can simply add another tab but you will have to call it something other than "Home" or "Forum".  Maybe you could call it "Main" or "Site" or even "Main Site".  If you want to know how to setup another tab for this, the following topic on SMF will give you the information that you need to do so --> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=261880.0

That topic is only for SMF 2.0 and will not work for sites running previous versions of SMF.

Thanks you guys.  Yes I was getting "Home" and "Forum" both being identical.  I'm trying that link now to adding tabs.    :) thanks

I'll go ahead and mark this topic solved then. O0
