When trying to arrange blocks I get this error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's online' WHERE id = 144' at line 1
File: /home2/othggame/public_html/othggamers/forum/Sources/TPortalAdmin.php
Line: 2284

is there a fix for this?

rjez,

If you are using the up and down arrows to move the blocks, this has been an issue ~ Reference topic --> http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=32271.0

This has been addressed on the Alpha Board and should be fixed in the next update when Bloc releases it but feel free to place this in the BugTracker if you'd like to just to be make Bloc addresses it.

In the meantime, you should be able to use the numbers to re-order the blocks without error until the next update is released.

I get the same error with numbers as the arrows.
Cool beans.. Ill wait for the updates.. ..

Thanks for the reply.

Hmmm, well, I don't know what to say about that.  I don't see this issue when manipulating the position numbers to change the order of the blocks.  For instance, if I have 3 blocks numbered 1, 2, and 3 in POS #'s 0, 10, and 20 respectively, and I want to move the #1 block down between number #2 and #3, I would simply change the POS number for Block #1 to 15 and save and it reorders the blocks, and the numbers, as 2, 1, and 3 accordingly.  At least this is what happens on my test site.  I hope you understood what I just said. :o :o

yup yup Ive tried it both ways... also tried what bluedevil suggested

QuoteI have found a temporary way to move blocks.

When moving blocks up or down, it will go to db error...

Then go to ?action=tpadmin via browser, then the blocks page and the blocks are moved ok.

All good I can wait.

Thanks again for trying.

Correction....

Normally i just change the number of the block and hit return and presto the block changes position... But if I actually change the numberof the block then scroll down and hit the save button it go's to the error but it does change.

Do any of the blocks have an apostrophe in the title ?  There are a few other bugs with these.

This part of the error seems to show there is an apostrophe being used :

Quote.....the right syntax to use near 's online' WHERE id = 144' at line 1....

Possibly a block is entitled "Who's online" - try changing it to Who Is Online or just drop the apostrophe.

othg_weasel

Yep that was it.. Even though that block was not active when I was trying to rearrange, It still caused the error. Its working fine now.

Thanks  :)

Freddy

No problem.  Bloc is fixing these as people find them, amazing what one little thing can do sometimes...

ZP, should we put this in the bug tracker do you think ?

ZarPrime

@freddy,

The apostrophe problem in various locations has been addressed several times in different locations.  However, if couldn't hurt to have another Bug Report on it.  If it's a duplicate, Bloc will note that and close it.  So, yes, go ahead.
