Hi,
I use TP V0.98, SMF 1.1.11

On Admin->TinyPortal->Settings->FrontPage i use :
What to show on front page: Only forum-posts
Articles layout for the front page: option D
Number of forum-posts to show on front page: 12 (Show forum-posts on front page from: 12, i use tutorials from TP forum to change from 5 to 12).

My problem/question is : There is a option all block/forum post windows(if I can just tell) to have the same size ?
Because : Number of characters to show per forum-post: 300 ->As long as all windows(forum posts) have set the same  Number of characters i don't understand why isn't posible all windows to have the same size...without same size they does not look nice.

10x in advance !

mariusfv,

If you could give us a link to your site so that we could see it, it might be easier for us to figure out why they aren't the same size.  Oh, one thing I just thought of.  If any posts have less that 300 characters, like say 100, it will be smaller than any of the ones that are 300 characters or more.  The only way to fix that would be to change the number of characters in your settings to 100 instead of 300.

10x for information...as i see isn't possible to have the same size as long as that depend from forum post characters.
That with 100 characters don't resolve the problem...
I can't give you a link because i work on localhost(192.168.....) for optimize and make some improvement for a friend...and he want same size...offf....

10x for your time....

Sorry for double post (after a while) but a php coder can't make an improvement for TP -> "Forum post on front page" to have the windows same size...so to don't depend from characters ?

Now windows(forum post) at front page depend from characters and as I see from Pictures posted(the size) so an improvement who declare the size of windows(forum post at front page) will be an excellent improvement because now they have "hilarious size " -> they are ugly !

10X IN ADVANCE !

mariusfv,

Well, this is certainly not something that could be added to TP 0.98.  That version is now over 3 years old and we are already on the version 1.0 beta 5-1.

In the latest version, there is a layout type for FrontPage articles (topics) that will come pretty close to what you are looking for.  Layout type #6 (just links) gives a fairly consistent look on the size of the various topics but it isn't perfect.  If you want to see what it looks like with that layout checkout the FrontPage of my test site here --> http://talesofthehavenexpanse.com/smf2test/index.php

I will only leave this layout type up for a brief time, so if you want to see what it looks like, take a look now as I will be changing it back to another layout type after you have looked.

I see...10x for information...

Tell me TP have option for upgrade TO LATEST version without loose your blocks...settings etc... ? because I can't uninstall TP ...errors at uninstall -> a lot of mods public & payed maybe modify ...

IchBin

TP 0.9.8 should be uninstalled before you install the TP1 beta 5. There are some major changes happening between these versions.

ZarPrime

To add to what Ichbin said, uninstalling TP 0.98 will not remove your Blocks and settings, etc., though if you are going to install SMF 2.0, you need to check the SMF Modifications site to see if your other Mods have been updated for SMF 2.0.  If you are going to use the large upgrade at SMF to upgrade, it shouldn't be necessary to uninstall TP 0.98 since TP, and all of your other Mods will no longer work with the new SMF version.  Because the TP blocks, etc. are contained in the database, they will be preserved and the new TP should pick those up fine.  However, if you have any blocks using custom code, those may need to be rewritten to work with SMF 2.0

If you need help on doing a manual uninstall of TP 0.98, we have a page in our Docs section about how to do that.  Take all of the usual precautions, backing up both your site and your database, etc. before proceeding so that you can easily revert your site in case you have any problems.
