Certainly, I couldn't get access to the site at work so i had to wait til i got home. Here you go.

Here are the steps I took to lead up to what you see:

1) Extract SMF 2.0 RC3 files to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\

2) Launch site and configure to mysql database.

3) Enter SMF Pacakages and install TP1 Beta 5-1

4) Install goes fine, no problems.

5) Create a user account for myself named "Brandon"

6) In SMF I create a quick membergroup named "Editor" based off Regular Member

7) Add "Brandon" to the Editor membergroup

8) In TinyPortal permissions i let Editor Submit HTML Article, Submit BBC Article, and Manage Articles

9) I log into my "Brandon" Account and click "Submit HTML Article" and type some random stuff for test. Attached screenshot TP1.png

10) I click submit and get the error shown in TP2.png

11) I logged back as admin to view error log. Attached as TP3.png

Thanks for looking at this for me!

I would almost bet that the issue is permission based. I have had untold problems with IIS7 and permission problems on many a software.

xGTx

I have set "Everyone" to have Full Permission on the wwwroot directory and everything below it to make absolute sure!

And the database connection is using the root username and password.

Did not fix the error. (No I will not keep it this way, just for testing  :D)

Renegd98

Did you change the permission thru IIS7 or explorer?  I believe setting them thru IIS7 is the proper way.. been awhile since I messed with it.

xGTx

I just tried it through IIS to make sure, no change.

I installed LAMP (Linux Apache2 Mysql PHP) on my linux laptop and tried this and it worked no problem.

What version of MySQL do you use on your IIS box to test this?

Renegd98

it has been awhile since I had a IIS install and not sure what version I had.  See if you can get the same version as you just used.

xGTx

Fixed. After trying 8 different MySQL versions, it was 4.1 that worked.

Guys, I'm glad you worked this out. O0 It's been years since I did anything on a IIS server and I wouldn't have even know where to start.
