Fresh install of SMF 1.1.11 with only one post and one article.

I tried to make a left panel block for categories and I got a database error when I hit save.

QuoteYou have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(mem.realName,art.author) as realName FROM smf_tp_articles AS art
LEFT JOIN s' at line 2
File: /home1/.........../Sources/TPortal.php
Line: 2153

Any idea how to fix this and what is wrong?

The entire site is locked up.

Same problem here  ??? It happens after I did an update from 1.5 to 1.5.1
Additional it gives me that:
QuoteAchtung: Ihre Datenbank scheint veraltet zu sein! Ihre Dateien haben die Version SMF 1.1.11, wogegen die Datenbank die Version 1.1.2 hat. Es wird dringend empfohlen, die neueste Version der upgrade.php auszuführen.

wich means that my database is outdatet because it has the version 1.1.2.
Sounds strange to me.

To get to your SMF Admin try this in a browser:

Quote from: IchBinâ„¢ on February 26, 2010, 07:55:10 PM
www.yoursite.com/index.php?action=admin;noblocks

This will turn all blocks off. You should also set it so that blocks do not display in your admin panel. This way you won't run into this problem again.

That didn't seem to work.  I'm locked out still.

Is there a way I can save this?

What is the link to Simple Scripts? Is that a mod you've installed?

EDIT: nvm, must be something like Fantastico.

Since you are using a custom theme is a way to change it back to the default via a link but can't remember it now. Is something like the no blocks link I gave you. I'm sure someone else will remember it though.

Greyhound

Simple scripts is just an automatic installer from my server.

I'm not using a custom theme.  I've just replaced the images, added a background and set the width to 900 pixels in the css.  It's still just the default theme.

I guess my bigger question is, why would I get a DB error like this by simply adding a category block and is it safe to assume that the new Beta 5-1 has some major issues?

I really like this release if we can get past this issue.

Edit:  I also added this in the bug report.
