TP1b5-issues (same for 1b5-1)

Hi,

I poste here all issues I saw on TP1b5 only :

- after login

it is not redirecting to frontpage always on forum, option is on frontpage in my admin

- blank left column

with my template I have blank left column more

but before 1b4 it was the normal left TP column

- articles background

Now all my articles have green background and befor it was standard temlplate background

- TP add \ in html code :

editing articles from 1b4 is destroying structure and pictures insert is not working.

The last 2 errors are corrected in the update that will come out this weekend. As for changed background and left column blank, it sounds like theme issues - articles HAVE changed styles, so check the theme you are using. Check if the theme has a tp-style.css and if it does: update it with added styles.

The login redirect should follow the TP admin setting - I will check if this is working.

Update: both SMF 1.1x and SMF 2.0 RC versions have the redirect working as it should. You need to check if all the modifcations for TP have been done or not. If not, then the redirect will always redirect to frontpage no matter what the setting is.

In your case its directed to forum, which suggests perhaps older TP files, check all TP "Sources" files also are indeed replaced with the newest.

I upgraded TP1b4 with b5 then it is directly with package manager.

Sometimes the package manager reports all files as "replaced" even when they are not.

Could you try uploading straight up all the Sources files from the TP package(inside the SMF2RC2 folder)?

it is production website then I can't test a lot on it.

Block, I'm experiencing another issue:

In Admin>TP>menus, the "add menu" command is not working for me... I have TP Beta5 installed in 2 different urls on the same server... With 2 different Databases and everything. This happens on both installations and regardless of which theme I use (including default).

Will this be also addressed in the update this weekend?

Edit: Also, there a huge problem with writing articles... At least HTML articles. I used both the WYSIWYG editor and the HTML and everything looked just fine. After I clicked on "save", my article code/text was completely ruined: It was altered, truncated and with lots of HTML code errors introduced by TP itself. This also seems like it needs an urgent solution.

You probably should have started another topic but ...

Are these issues that are happening for you with beta 5 on SMF 1.1.11 or SMF 2.0 RC3?  In any case, both the menu problems and the proper saving of articles have been addressed by the Alpha Team and should be fixed with the next update.

Hi Zarprime,

Quite frankly I hesitated between opening a new topic or using an already existent one. I would have probably created a new topic named "More TP1b5-issues"... I thought it would be a bad idea that would invite more people to do the same, instead of using an already open topic for that subject.
But that's ok, if I find any more issues with TP1b5, I'll open a new topic.

My smf is 1.1.11 and I'm happy to know these issues will be addressed on the next update.

you should name your topics to somerthing that actually relates to the actual problem .. stating the tp version and maybe even the SMF version. This way people that can help directly can see without having to go into the message prior to knowing what the problem is..

the way some messages on here are being posted .. its like the topic is stating.. "Hey i have a question" then to see what the actual wquestion is we have to like ask or open the message to see what the question is..
