Sorry the heading doesn't really explain what I want to do!

but here goes;
I've just upgraded to TP1.0b5 and SMF 2.0rc3, all went well except that now my site doesn't use the whole screen.  I have white bands down either side when I use my custom theme.  The header expand to fit across screen but the rest doesn't.

I've got no idea how to adjust this, I have PM'ed creator of my them but she doesn't seem to be around as much these days.

Also when I go into forum and view a thread the entries shift to bottom of the page, the left column seems to sit above the forum entries.

I've attached pics of these issues, any ideas would be appreciated.  The site is at www.brodiescastlebrewing.com

thanks

The only thing that comes to mind is your custom theme, has it been updated for the new SMF version as you upgraded that to ? Several theme changes has been made between the SMF versions.

cheers G6, I've narrowed it down to this as well.  I have pm'ed RebelRose in the hope that she can help solve my dilemma as she was the creator of my theme.

if she can't help I may need to seek a custom theme from elsewhere, I just can't work out how to create these myself.

If she doesn't respond I'm pretty sure we could fix that up. It looks like there are a couple of columns that need to be fixed. Like you have extra <td>'s or something.

Xarcell

Yes, it doesn't look too hard to fix.

You could just attach your index.template.php file. Looks like TP  .098 template. TP Beta 5 uses layers, so custom TP code in the template is not needed.

grabman

THanks for the offers of help.  yes it would be a .98 template, I've attached for you to see.

cheers

Umm you have a problem. It looks like your server has  been hacked. You have a line of code on the first line of your file that is from a hacker inserting code into your files. I would consult with your host about this so that they can find the exploit that allowed this. If you are on a shared host, it could likely be that another account on the server has been compromised.  You'll likely need to go through all your files to remove this stuff. That or you'll have to reset your site from a fresh set of files.

I have removed the line for that code, and have adjusted the file so that the left/right empty columns are gone. Make sure you have a backup of this file before you change it out with mine in case mine is messed up some how.

Xarcell

Yes, you have been hacked. I've seen this before with SMF 1.1.X

Somehow, someone get's your FTP access, and modifies your files. You need to check your other files & themes. You also need to change your password on your FTP.

cheers IchBin & Xarcell, the hack happened a while ago, was the reason I left my old host.  I had hoped I'd restored clean versions of files since then but looks like some slipped through!!

Will replace the index.template file and then check others!  Might remove all excess themes and only reinstall those that are used. After upgrade to SMF 2.0 and tp 1.0b5 hopefully other files will be ok!

Thanks for your help

edit: uploaded new index.template  page is now wider but in forum post view left column still pushes forum posts down to bottom.

one day I'll learn to leave things alone!!!!!  (Hits self in head with hammer!!!!)

in my effort to remove the hacked code it looks like I've killed the theme altogether.  Front page is ok but if you go to forum page everything is out of place, then in post view the side bars all vanish!  to make it worse I can't find the original zip file of the theme, I think it was on backup drive that got fried last year.

no idea what to do from here!
