Today, I finally found an hour to clean up my kids' school's P&C Web Site - It was getting a lot of errors. I was trying to create a second copy of my SMF/TP database. the Original Forum still works but it generated a massive number of errors so I thought that if I created a completely new install of the latest versions of SMF & TP with the appropriate mods installed and then import the database across, I would have a clean copy free of errors and I could close the other one off.

Here is what I did:

  • Created a backup of my original database (including the structure) using forum maintenance
  • Fresh Installed SMF1.1.10, TP1.0 Beta4, SMF Classifides1.2.26, SMF Gallery Pro2.5.4, SMF Links2.1, and SMF Staff1.6.1 - all the same mods less Felblog as it wasn't really used on the original site.
  • Using myPHPAdmin, I imported the database with structure
I ended with the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function AllowedToBlog() in /home/har49146/public_html/forum/Sources/Load.php(1739) : eval()'d code on line 239

I have searched the Load file and can't find the offending call or function and can't get into the site to install fleblog just to get around the issue. can't even find a string of 4 letters in a row matching "B-l-o-g".

Is there a way of resurrecting this mess or should I start again (although I will probably get the same mess happening). Failing that, can someone have a look at the 200-300 pages of faults in the original file and sort that (probably asking a lot!).

The sites are located at www.harrison.asn.au (original) and /forum (new site) attached is my load file.

This is extremely confusing for a complete numpty like me. Happy for a knowing soul to contact me at your leisure.

Thanks in advance

SMF does not always throw the proper file name in the error. It might help if you Enable eval().

I'm wondering how you got the blog error if you started with fresh files and didn't install the blog mod though? We can help you on this, but it'll take a bit. Once you've got eval enabled, post the real error and file that is referenced.

Ichbin,

Thanks for the blisteringly quick response.

Enabled eval() and got:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function AllowedToBlog() in /home/har49146/public_html/forum/Sources/Load.php(1739) : eval()'d code on line 558

which is a different error (at least different line number!) then disabled it and got:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function allowedtoblog() in /home/har49146/public_html/Themes/default/index.template.php on line 558

searched the index.templates file and still not found (attached) although I could be looking for the wrong thing.

The original forum has Felblog installed but I can install it - I thought that if I uninstalled it on my original site, then I can do another back up and import the new back up... just no felblog uninstal script!.

Thanks for your help

As this was a clone set up and all I moved was the Database I thought that the error would have to be in the Database that I moved.

I trolled through the Database in PHPAdmin and found a setting called "Enable Felblog" with a value of one "1" (My assumption that 1 meant yes) so I set that to zero "0" (Assuming Off) and this seemes to have worked.  I looked at every table that mentioned permissions and this was the only real one that jumped out at me and it seems to have worked.

I have marked this as solved.  Thanks for your help.

Cheers
