Could you please tell me which file it is that I can add more colors (deep pink and violet to be exact)

and so all our fonts show up.

I know of the mod for the software to get the posting window to have dropdown menus to show the colors/size/fonts and would love to have that function in the block area.

thanks to you all for the wonderful help you give all of us, it is a mark of a great creator to have good support.

I got you another happy smf/tp user and she even purchased a subscription too for her self too...ty

my specs should appear in my signature, please let me know if you prefer to have it within message instead

Could you give us a little more information about the mod for the software? It's difficult to figure out what you're trying to do.

DarkAngel612

it is the FontAndSizeDropDown_1.2 I will attach the mod so you can see what it has code wise. the only fault I had with it is that I had to go to the posting file and fix the font face and font size to read right---they were backwards -- font size showed color not size other than that it is great.

with it I just go in and add the color I need to be added...lol

Can I see it in action? I don't have a handle on what it actually does. I saw the mod at SMF and I went to the demo site, but since I don't read German I don't know where it is on the site.

What I have figured out is that this is something that changes the font somewhere. Are you wanting to apply that mod to a block, to just change the font there? Or are you wanting to have the controls for the mod in a block -- maybe like those A letters that are on the mod demo site?

If it's the latter, there should be some html included in the mod which you can then paste into a script box. If you need to change the colors, you can include inline css styles to make it any color you want.

If it's the former, I don't have a clue. :)

I would like to have this function in any block we make it changes the posting.php file I would love to see it implemented in TP always cause it makes it easier to change the font color than clicking the icon then deleting the color and replacing it by hand...I am basically lazy ya know...lol

tester account so you can post a reply or topic:

username: tester
pass: tester

see very complicated and original...lol

Can you put some punctuation in there? I can't figure out where the sentences are and it makes a difference to the meaning.

But I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "block". Are you talking about one of the TinyPortal blocks that are on the sides of the page or are you talking about the places where messages are posted on the forum?

Where is the "posting.php" file? That is not a file in either SMF or TP.

You gave a username and password, but you have three sites linked in your signature. Which one is it to?

DarkAngel612

sorry i have a temperamental keyboard

I would like to have this function in any block we make it changes the posting.php file:

meaning when using the panels and blocks feature of tp.

I would love to see it implemented in TP always cause it makes it easier to change the font color than clicking the icon then deleting the color and replacing it by hand --- this would be a beneficial add on to your tp software

the proper name is the post.template.php file in the default  theme...I am sure the zip I sent you had that in its documents.

and the site is
http://thefantasiesattic.net/attic/index.php

please excuse me for not being clearer-I am on pain meds and they not only take the pain away but make you really stupid too.

So you're saying you want those drop downs to appear when you create an article or block too ?

That sounds possible, but I think for it to happen Bloc will need to take a look at it - as he knows what is going on there.  So wait and see what Bloc thinks ok ?  He's very busy though, so don't hold your breath !

Cheers.

QuoteCould you please tell me which file it is that I can add more colors (deep pink and violet to be exact)

This can be done by yourself.  If you look in post.template.php find this area (around line 840) :

    <option value="Navy">', $txt[273], '</option>
    <option value="Maroon">', $txt[274], '</option>
    <option value="LimeGreen">', $txt[275], '</option>
</select>';

That is where the colour codes that appear in the colour drop-down are defined.

All you need to do is add in new ones like this :

    <option value="Navy">', $txt[273], '</option>
    <option value="Maroon">', $txt[274], '</option>
    <option value="LimeGreen">', $txt[275], '</option>
    <option value="GoldenRod">Golden Rod</option>
</select>';

See how I added 'Golden Rod'...this is hard-coding it, but it should be fine as you are an English forum anyway.

You can use this page to find colour names that you may use :

HTML Colour Chart

Notice the values don't have spaces, but for the option bit (which the user sees) you can add spaces.

The editor that comes with TP already has these types of things though. When you create an article or block, there are drop downs for the font, font size, and a button to click to change the color. Unless i'm misunderstanding what is being said...
