Hello there.

Since i installed the latest version of TinyPortal (TP), i noticed that when i receive a new PM something strange happens.
When i login i'm redirected to the frontpage of TP, and if i have a new PM, i get a popup message (this also happens if i'm logged in and receive a new PM). Now, if i click ok Firefox opens a new tab with the PM index, but the page of the original tab stays blank.
If i click cancel (on the popup message) the frontpage (or the page where i was in the forum) disappears and i receive a blank page.
Interestingly, this only happens in Firefox, in IE there's no problem.

Any suggestion?

Yes, what other mods do you have installed ? TP doesent really change anything regarding the PM function, it just links to it
So if you have some other mod, custom profile, pm on registration etc ( list all your mods ) we will know where to look

JPDeni

Also, I would suggest checking to see if the same thing happens with the default theme.

ZarPrime

JPDeni,

Unless he has fixed his original problems that I worked on him with the default theme previously, that probably won't make a difference.  The member has a habit of trying to make things work with the custom theme without making sure that they work in the SMF Core theme first.  As an example, his default theme doesn't even show the TinyPortal copyright, or it didn't the last time I checked.

G6Cad

Then we add a closure to this until the original issues are solved, we cant possibly give any support if the core is messed up.

Start over with fresh files from SMF big upgrade package and replace your old files with the new ones.
Then do ALL the work to the default core theme first before you start doing things the wrong way like this time.

FragaCampos

I don't have any problems with my default theme anymore, as you can see by visiting my site.

And the problem i reported has nothing to do with other mods cause this only happened exactly since i installed the latest version of TP.
And no, i don't have "custom profile, pm on registration" mods installed.

3 mods changing the source code for PM and PM functions.

And i know that TP doesent change anything regarding the PM or it's functions or how it open on the screen.

So are you saying that you don't have the problem you describe in this topic with the default theme?

FragaCampos

IchBinâ„¢ i mean i don't have the problems ZarPrime mentioned before, i do have the problem in default theme, though.

G6, i've tested the forum in my computer and with or without the mods you mentioned, everythin is ok. But in my live forum, if i uninstall the 3 mods the problem persists... strange, no?
As i mentioned before, this only happens with firefox...

IchBin

I don't know of any way to trouble shoot your problem other than you to start with fresh files. Go through and add one thing at a time, each time testing things to make sure all works in the default theme. After everything is installed and working in the default theme, then move onto your custom theme. I took a quick look at your source on your page, and I seen one error that could cause issues. You have a bunch of HTML links before your <body> tag.

This makes your page XHTML invalid, which is known to cause weird issues with some things. Just a heads up.
