Multiple sites, single shared database

Is SMF and TP able to handle this? I want to have multiple mirrored sites with the same files, how I do this is irrelevant.

What i need to know is, can multiple sites use the same database credentials and access it?

I don't think you could get TP to do this without a huge amount of modification. As for SMF, you are better off asking at their site about this.

There is a mod that used to do it but I forgot what it is called and it worked for SMF and TP. Lesmond, Tick, and I worked on a site with multiple forums with a single db for someone and it worked...for Albee. Lesmond might remember the name of the mod...I can't remember right now.

I'm not sure if the mod is still working/updated or not...
