The Samsung NC10 sounds like a good choice and 10" would certainly be better than 9".
I have no complaints about the screen size on my 9" Acer, but in this case going bigger would be OK 

Well, there currently isn't much choice at RS for NetBooks. They have 2 to choose from, one black and one blue. I'll opt for the black one. It looks similar to one that a colleague has, plus the spec looks pretty good, also has an anti-bacterial keyboard.. Not sure what they are suggesting by that.. that we're dirty or summink?... bit of a cheek if you ask me

Yeah, they've been sporting linux on laptops and netbooks at a lower cost for about 1-2 years now. Since most distros are free, don't require licensing, and require less resources the cost has to be much less.

Lealer just got a Dell about 5 days ago and I'm just trying it out now.

Halfway down the page...the one in the middle. Takes a little getting used from the kb on my PC but is still pretty nice.

Yeah, my cousin has a high end one that is really nice! Too bad I can't afford anything like that or even the one that Lealer has.

Thanks for the tip Jeff... I wouldn't mind trying a Mac but their prices have always been so much higher than other brands. They may be great computers, but the cost is just too much for me. ($1000 for a 13" is twice as much as the same sized Dell)

I think this used to be the case. I have no problem finding a program for my Mac now days. Heck, even Microsoft has ported Office over to it. For the average Joe I don't think much is missing in terms of the daily programs that most people use.
