Yes..,this is truth..,tinyportal rokzz in every issue except this thing...,

slowing means not not only loading page time taking but also u can find few more things

Present Im using "URBAN Theme by Deziner studio" in my SMF 1.1.9...and i installed tinyportal....,we can easily observe that motion of the tabs in urban theme will become slow when TP installed..,when it is uninstalled thn it will be fast again...

may be people cant able to understand wat im sayng exactly..,they can understand only if they check URBAN theme which is TP installed and TP not installed...

so..pls do something for this....

If the theme slows your site down, you have to ask Dezinerstudio for help.

Its most likely the Motools javascript that interferes. TP loads Motools, but in case of some themes using tabs, its loaded twice, thus slowing it down.

The cure is to remove the call to Mootools core library either in TP or in the theme itself.

After a fresh install of any mod, especially one as tiny as tinyportal :P you should carry out SMF maintenance. This might help. The first time I ever installed TP, the site was really slow, to the point that I was going to uninstall it again. I went and optimised the site under SMF maintenance and the performance greatly improved.

Also, please don't use bold, it doesn't make the text any easier to read or less likely to be missed.

And.. Please read AND follow the Posting Guidelines.html. Simply saying that TP is the cause isn't good enough, there might be another reason why your site is slowing down.

Urban theme & TP both use mooTools ... thus your slowing ..

..I use the same , my site loads super duper fast ?
I have become comfortably numb!

1.  Yes, if you remove Mootools from TP it will become faster

2.  I don't know if this is something you really want to do because ...

3.  Removing Mootools will cause certain parts of TP to stop functioning.

http://www.dzinerstudio.com/ offers support for their premium themes on their website.  If the Urban theme is not working correctly for you then you need to tell them what it is doing and ask them if they have a fix for the theme.  when using their themes this should always be you first course of action.  Have you even asked at their site why the Urban theme does not seem to be working correctly with TinyPortal 1.0 beta 4?  If not, then you should certainly ask them.

As above stated if you remove mootools something will stop functioning properly.

If you have a theme select box and you let people select the themes they want i suggest to remove the mootools script from the themes and leave the mootools to load from TP.

If you using only one theme for your forum then i suggest either keeping calling   mootools from the theme, or TP.

By any means, you can't have mootools load 2 times in your site.

In your case that you use Urban i suggest to call mootools only from the theme index template. So you have to remove mootools from Sources/TPortal.php.
Find:

// include the handy mootools javascript
$context['html_headers'] .= '
<script type="text/javascript" src="' . $boardurl . '/tp-files/tp-plugins/javascript/mootools.js"></script>';

and Remove it.

That will make your Urban theme menus work jsut fine and the parts of TP aswell.

i removed but tabs are are same...in slow motion  :(

Dan,

You should not remove Mootools from TinyPortal as it is required for certain parts to work.  Is there a reason why you won't ask at DzinerStudio whether they have a fix for their themes that use Mootools yet so that they will work properly with TP 1.0 beta 4?
