ShoutBox in TP 1.0 Beta 3

Is it there a shoutbox in this TP version 1.0 Beta 3 because when i tried to put a shoutbox there isnt any option from the block menu... so i guess it should be isntalled as TP module or.... pls help?

Hi d0brin,

Welcome to TinyPortal.

Yes, there is a shoutbox module.  The first thing you need to do is make sure the simple shoutbox is installed.  Go to Admin --> TinyPortal --> Modules and look to see if the simple shoutbox is installed.  If it is, then turn it on.  If it isn't, then click Uploaded Modules and install it.  Then go to blocks and create a new block of the type TP Module.  save it and when you come back to it it should have the simple shoutbox selected.  Choose the visual options of where to show it, and then turn it on and it should show up.

Don't use the Adv. Shoutbox.  It doesn't work right.

It's included in the TP package, when you click the install this module ( TP Shoutbox ) it moved the files to the correct place and gets active.

Don't use the Adv. Shoutbox.  It doesn't work right.

There is a tiny button HIDDING and you/I cant see it unless you really really pay attention and you have to unhide the settings to set it to simple. Man it took me over a half an hour to figure it out and I have done this before. I was getting so frustrated its not even funny but I still love TP

btw when i do that it loads this page:

index.php?action=tpadmin;

and on it it gives me an error message like the page cant be found and when i reload it, it goes to News and shows:

Latest News From:   www.tinyportal.co.uk

and it is empty....

what happened?

Your host have probably denied outside connection (F Open) and with that, you cant fetch the feed from tp that should be visible.
