I searched forum and tried every idea people had about this topic and still have issues

Activate button doesnt work on blocks page, del-edit-create work fine

I have installed a fresh smf 1.1.8 and latest tp
I have no other mods
I have only installed one other theme than the 3 default themes and none work

Heres a pic below of block screen

I know you said you tried every idea that people had, but could you tell us exactly what you have done? That way we won't tell you the same things you've already tried.

Still, since I'm here, the one thing that I came across was that the activate didn't work unless you had set the block to appear somewhere. Are you sure you have done that? You have to set each one.

This is a fresh install of smf and tp, there are no other mods
the activate link doesnt work, and there should be a red/green "led" and there isnt

not sure what else u need to know, I kept same db and just re-installed smf/tp and did a repair_settings along with tp_install

You said earlier:

QuoteI searched forum and tried every idea people had about this topic and still have issues

What ideas did you try?

Now I see that you say

You said that you did a "repair_settings." Why? Have you moved your forum?

Why don't you start from the beginning and tell us about your forum, complete with a link to it, and what your problem is. Please read the Posting Guidelines.html

I have a live site and got this issue other day, same exact error this person had on this thread http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=309452.0

I followed Grey Knight's instructions exactly and that fixed the page i was getting when anyone tried to change the site theme in their profiles.

The site is running great other than this weird problem i have with trying to activate any block.

And thats it :)

Do you see the activate/deactivate buttons using the default theme? If so, then you probably are just missing some theme images. I'd check there first.

Did you verify that the blocks are set to show at some location in your forums as stated by JPDeni?

If you could follow the guidelines it would sure help. I need a link to your forum as well as I need to know the versions that you're using. What theme? When you say latest TP, I have no idea if that means latest as in TP 098 or TP 1.x because many people still consider latest as in TP 0.9.8 stable.

coot

ok you guys were on the right track with the images
I couldnt see the red x's because i was using firefox and i guess firefox doesnt show red x's with missing images.

When I used IE and right clicked on the missing images, its looking for them in Themes/defaultp

Im not sure why its not looking for them in Themes/default

I just ftped the Themes/default from zip and changed it to defaultp, so I now have default & defaultp in my Themes directory

So my question is why is it looking for images in defaultp and not default ?

thanks for everyones help :)

coot,

It is extremely difficult to guess what the problem is if you won't Read and Reply to the Posting Guidelines as 4 people have asked you to do.  If you had done this before you even posted the first message in this topic, I  wouldn't be the 5th person trying to help you and this issue would likely have already been solved.

Because you don't appear to want to Read and Reply to the Posting Guidelines, I will come directly to the point and ask you the questions that are at the bottom of that topic ...
