I have tried several times to adjust the width of not only my forum theme, but also the left panel to get rid of irrating scroll bars that are on most of my blocks.  This is only a problem in IE.

IchBin

Having a fixed width theme with both sidebars showing is going to do that. If you have tried making the panel bigger and the theme bigger, there is not much we can do if the panels are bigger than the content of your block. It must be the code you are using in your blocks.

I have the blocks set to 145px and the panels to 150px.  These are the same blocks I had prior to upgrading TP and didn't have the scroll bars then so thought this was some sort of weird bug, especially since it looks fine in FireFox.

IchBin

I see the javascript on that player changing the width to 150 at times. Have you tried going larger on your panel width? Like 160 - 170 ?

katers

Yes I changed the width even as big as 190 just to see if it changed anything and it didn't.  Tried unactivating and moving around all the blocks and still the width doesn't change nor can I rid myself of those scroll things.

IchBin

Well the scroll isn't happening in every block though. So that would generally indicate that the code you are putting in the block is causing it. Have you also tried another theme just to make sure? Post the code of one of the blocks so we can take a look. If you are using the editor to create these blocks I would suggest you create the block without the editor to see if the editor is putting anything in their that could be causing it.

prolly might help increasing total Forum #container{width: 75%; & or increase the (min-width: 780px;
I have become comfortably numb!

The container is set at this now

#container {
   width: 985px;
   margin:0px auto 20px auto;
}

Also tried 1100px and 95%

i had that problem with a block that held a couple of images and no matter what the scroll bar was there so what I did was go to the panels/choose the section (left, right...)

and in the one that had the scroll bar I removed any numbers in the part that sets it to a set size....not the first one that is for the block size but the one towards the bottom that lets you not only set the fixed width but height also.

I found that any block which has these forced setting will give you a scroll bar...even the shoutbox gave me one.

once doing that the actual size block behaved and no scroll bar,  hope it works for you

You Rock!  I have put hours into trying to figure this out and what you suggested did the trick.

Thank you so much for posting, I had given up on getting help with this.
