...out here as I cant get into my site just now

I guess the host is doing something to the server, but they don't give me any warning so I just get 'page cannot be displayed' messages. I get the same message when I try the host's site so I can only assume they are 'doing something' to it. Meanwhile I get a bunch of eager members YIM-ing me asking why they cant get into the site

So does anyone know how to pick a good host lol

I am so disappointed at the moment, I did a lot of work upgrading to RC2, installed a bunch of mods and then TP 3 days ago and now my site is down again and I cant get reach anything on the server.

All that work, and then all the promotion I did saying 'hey come see my new portal' and now people cant get to it at all.

Its really bad for business

i am sort of in the same boat. not bad enough that it goes down but no warning and not being able to find out why is unacceptable.

you may need to register at the forums but then you get 3 mos for $.01 then you can decide. The guy is very helpful. You like me probably have nothing to lose by trying it out.

hmmm well I am really disappointed in my service - or lack of it!  We have had problems with performance and downtime, and everytime it is without warning, so far today/night its been down for 7hrs. 

Its really not good enough.  Im wary of trying another host without some recommendations though

I dont think its worth the risk, $0.01 is an attractive offer but then once you are with them, the hassle of having to move again if they are bad, just isnt worth it. I would rather pay the going rate and be guaranteed good service.

thanks for your reply. I wasnt really advertising for a new host, just chatting about the fact that my site was down and maybe it was time to look for another one. I meant no harm with my comments regarding the $0.1 special offer deal, but I just dont know anything about other hosting companies and they all start to look the same after a while and offer similar deals.

The person who brought it up said

"but then you get 3 mos for $.01 then you can decide. "

What I meant was that I didnt really want to sign with a company for a 'test' to see if I like it and then maybe have move elsewhere after three months, if I didnt.  I got too much hassle already, NOM to your company at all.
