I had this TP system installed on for me,(love it by the way) and I'm not experienced in php scripting, since my focus is mainly in with helping terminal and seriously ill patients and members onsite.
The tech I had doing maintenance and installations is unable to continue, and normally everything runs fine. When i attempt to download the Backup Database however, Get a 500 internal server error. I'm not sure if this is a n SMF or TP issue, sorry bout that.
I'm hoping there is a tech who I could get to assist me, and I don't expect you to work for free.

Does this problem exist if you use the default theme?

Bones1960

Yes, I switched to the SMF default theme and got the same result.

Most likely a time-out error related to your server's configuration file (php.ini) not having enough execution time to complete the process. Your forum listed 1111 members with 68000+ messages, so you most likely have a large database to compile for downloading.

Ask your provider to change the max_execution_time or the server's timeout directive.

Technically, it would be a server/host configuration issue, as it relates to SMF (not TinyPortal) if it is timing out.

If you are really concerned about getting backup, you should probably go the route of getting it through your control panel that the host gives you. This way, you can get a copy of the files and the database.

I'd also check to make sure that your file permissions are correct.
