Ok we've had TP installed for a bit (we converted our SMF board to TP.  However I seem to be running into a few problems.

1 When I'm writing an article I can't seem to insert a link.  I highlight my text hit the insert link button and add my URL, and hit ok, but when I press submit for the article the box pops back up once I come back to the edit page and I click ok again but this time it won't go away and I have to click cancel.  If I go out to an article it will appear there's a link but it says something about javascript void (0) and a string of numbers.  To see this go to the site.  www.8bitrebels.com and look at the featured article at the top I just have the link pasted but at the very end I just added the word Test and tried to link that.  Gave me the same problem.
This is the article I'm talking about: http://8bitrebels.com/boards/index.php?page=PodcastEpisode10

2. Are there any mods to make adding links and youtube clips etc easier?  I know for our forums we have a script where you just have to add the Youtube URL and it will embed the video.

3.  We bought a theme when we were just an SMF forum but it had a tp section.  We installed it and used it on the boards when they didn't have TP.  But since the switch it gives whoever tries to use it an error and they can't see anything.  We since deleted the theme and tried reinstalling it.  I hit preview but I still get:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ssi_shutdown() (previously declared in /home/content/t/h/e/thewiicast/html/boards/SSI.php:193) in /home/content/t/h/e/thewiicast/html/boards/SSI.php on line 195

Can anyone help me with these?

Link to my site: http://www.8bitrebels.com
SMF version: SMF ver. 1.1.8
TP version: TP ver. 0.9.8
Theme name and version: XD-MrsXV1 as far as version I'm not sure.  We got it from Tinyportalmedia.com  However the theme currently being used is just the SMF default that came with TP 0.9.8
Mods installed: Look at my 3rd post in this thread, counting this one.
Related Error messages: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ssi_shutdown() (previously declared in /home/content/t/h/e/thewiicast/html/boards/SSI.php:193) in /home/content/t/h/e/thewiicast/html/boards/SSI.php on line 195
And of course Javascript Void on the link problem.

Ken.

I forgot to mention I also wanted to create a block that contained articles for a particular category and its sub-categories.  I've tried creating it in the admin panel and the block comes up but it doesn't bring up the articles in the sub-categories just the main one.

You've got lots of different questions here.  They each probably should have been placed in different topics to keep the confusion level at a minimum.

The error in #3 is likely because theme was not designed to work with TP 0.98 but I'm not sure.  You should probably ask about that problem on the TPM site.

On #2, I don't understand exactly what you want to know.

On #1, post the code you are using here inside code tags and tell us what kind of block you are using.

Finally, a 4th question in your last post.  Tell us more about how you are trying to do that (what kind of block are you using and what is the code?)

ZarPrime

Edit:  And last but not least, you can find out wht Mods you have installed by going to Admin ---> Package Manager and clicking installed mods.

On 2 I mean that in our SMF forum we have a script that allows one to simply post the URL to a Youtube video rather than the full embed string and it will embed the video.

On 1 I'm hitting the insert edit Link button  It's not in a block but rather in an article.

On the 4th question (my second post) I'm going to manage blocks and I'm making an article category and putting the main category in the slot where's asking for the category.  It displays articles in that category but not any in sub-categories.

OK, because this topic has already become terribly confusing to me because of all the different issues, let's take one problem at a time.  As we solve each one, we can go on to another one.

What type of article are you using?  Please post the code here using bbc code tags.  One more question.  Is this link supposed to imbed a video using bbc tags according to how the mod to do that works?

I'm going to article manager and just hitting add.  I'm typing up what I want and then I highlight something and I hit the Insert Edit Link button.  I'm not using BBC code.

http://8bitrebels.com/boards/index.php?page=PodcastEpisode10  < this is the most recent article I tried it with.  Look at the word Test, I tried to link to the main site page just to test it if was working, I hover over the link and in the status bar at the bottom I see the Javascript void (0) followed by numbers bit.

There is no code I'm typing up that I could be messing up I'm using the built in buttons.

Not trying to add a video, just simply trying to add a hyperlink.

Which editor are you using? It's likely a problem with the editor. You can get around the problem by accessing the html directly and adding your link in there.

MichaelVash7886

I'm using the one in TP when I just click add rather than add PHP.  I just tried it with the basic HTML code and it worked, was just hoping I could find an easier way for those not as familiar with it.  When a normal user submits an article they come to the same editor.

If the editor has a version or not I can't find it.  I can't view the HTML, but if I enter this manually it works

<a href=link>text</a>

I was just hoping I could fix the editor for those people that don't know much about code.

In the editor, push the source button to enter code directly as shown in the image below.
