tp downloads

this is really bugging me at the moment, downloads are working with a couple of my members uploading a file, however other members cannot see them so how to i set the downloads up correctly??

There is module for downloads which I switch on and a menu appears on the frontpage but does not work .. I get a server error everytime I click it.

any advice and/or suggestions would be appreciated

What errors do you get ?

And what categories do you have set the diffrent membergroups to be able to upload to, and also, view what categories ?
If members have access to upload to categories that other membergroups cant view, then you have the issue your telling us here.
But what are the errors you say you have from the server ?

I don`t have any errors in tp, just the error  with the download bar that pops up when I make it active with the server. From admin point of view I can see the two uploads , but how can members download these files.

Is there any access, screen panel  or block for selectable downloads, or am I missing something here??

I notice too that in the modules section "Settings" there are none for download manager is this correct??

Besides the permissions for each membergroup, as G6 mentions, if you click edit for each category under TinyPortal --> Downloads, you will see allowed MemberGroups that can access the category.  If a MemberGroup is not checked here, they won't have access to the files in that category.

The filemanager are the base permissions, the rest of the permissions for the downloads are in the download module

If you look at your categories, they have a setting, ( every category holds it's own setting ) where you check what membergroups allowed to see ( when they see, they can download/ and upload you have that setting checked in the membergroups permission page *your screenshot* )

Best way to see what your groups can see and do, are to create a testaccount for your self in that membergroup and see what you can do in that membergroup.

Thanks guys for your help, I have managed to sort it out now, I needed a couple of categories with the permissions set then it all went smoothly .

The download button now works...... BTW can I change the terrible colour! is it in Tp images??

So I'm supposed to read your mind that you're still talking about a button? How about right clicking on the image and selecting properties? You can find all you need to know about an image that way. Duh?
