I can use the wysiwyg editor for articles, but I can't figure out how to turn it on for panels and blocks?

I have done a search here on TP, and it seems to have been eliminated for blocks, how about panels?

If the wysiwyg editor is not included in TP1.06 for panels & blocks.  Is there an easy way to see the code the wysiwyg editor generates in articles?

I have tried using code from dreamweaver in setting up panels and it keeps either breaking the layout or not appearing right.  The wysiwyg works great for articles.  I'm not even close to knowing html rules and elements, I have always used dreamweaver and keep playing with stuff to get it code to work.  But this isn't working too well with SMF.

SMF 1.1.8
TP 1.0.6
Site is here

Why would you want a wysiwig editor for panels? The editor for blocks was added back into beta3. However, TP no longer uses FCKEditor or Wysiwig. It uses a newer light weight editor that Bloc has found.

My site.  That 1st center block is "Upper Panel Block", that article inside that block was a simple test to see how images wrapped with text would work.  As hard as I tried using html generated by dreamweaver, after cutting and pasting code into the block input area for HTML+BBC.  The results never displayed correctly.  So I created same image with wrap text in the SMF wysiwyg editor, it displayed perfectly.  So I then in browser looked at code in browser "view source" and cutnpaste the code into the "Upper Panel Block".  Again it displayed correctly.

Where is the new editor you are refering too, I can't see it in 1.0.6 or is there something I'm missing?

If no new editor in 1.0.6, how can I easily view html code generated by the SMF wysiwyg editor?

I had the same "disappearing wisiwig editor" situation with the beta2. When i upgraded to the beta 3 version it all was fine. Seems no one quite thought it was the beta 2, but rather my ineptness, so beta 3 works fine in this respect.

You see an editor when you create a regular type article? (Not a php article). Have you tried a different block type when creating the block with code? HTML/BBC vs Scriptbox?

I can see the wysiwyg editor with articles, NOT BLOCKS/Panels..

Q. How can I see the code generated by the wysiwyg editor in articles, so I can cut n paste the code into blocks/panels?

That would be a great little mod, along with preview article, when using the wysiwyg editor, there would be a "see code" and it generates a page with the code, sort of like dreamweaver where you can see either the code or the finished product.

You can see the code, in the new editor you just click the <> button at the bottom of the editor.

An editor will never be added to panels as there is nothing you can edit with an editor for panels. As for the blocks, just remember the editor does not show up for php block types. Only html/bbc/scriptbox type blocks.

Ich, he's using beta2.  vwarrior,  a new editor is available for blocks in beta3, but since you are using beta2 the answer to your question of how to see the code you paste into an article is to hit the source button.  See the image below.

Yes I'm using 1.0.6 beta 2.

Ok I really want an editor for blocks.  So upgrading to Beta 3....?
I'm just getting started with TP1.0.6, what is best way to upgrade?
I really don't want to have to install new copy of SMF... there were some issues which required the hosting to get involved.
ââ,¬Â¢ opt. (1) Clean install on new copy of SMF 1.1.8?
ââ,¬Â¢ opt. (2) Uninstall TP 1.0.6 and ok to use my existing SMF 1.1.8 there is not forum customizing yet except theme.
ââ,¬Â¢ opt. (3) Is it possible to just copy files over TP 1.0.6?

Are you saying that the editor in the picture I included above is not in your beta 2 when adding or editing an html block?

have you installed any other SMF Mods after you installed TP?  If not, it should be pretty painless to upgrade.

Backup your database.  Uninstall beta2 with the package manager.  Use the package manager to install beta 3.

That's it.  This topic might help --> How do I Install TinyPortal?
