Not sure what to call this, but I am looking for a block that  would display 30 or so of the most recent users online or even random. This would display smaller pics of their avatar.  This is something that you would see on Facebook or I have a couple examples below.  One is used with avatars and the other is used for mini ads.

IchBin

I did a couple of those blocks already in the code snippets board. Take a look.

Thank you, I looked there twice, but didn't see anything.  Off I gooooo

Did you find it twister?  A search for avatar in Block code snippets would probably let you find Ichbin's code.  I use 2 instances of it on my site, one near the top and the other one at the bottom and it works great.

ZarPrime I like your site.  Funny because I had just turned on the original Star Trek right before clicking on your site.

I did find the code for the one called Avatar of Users Online and I am going to see if I can do it without messing up.  One thing I noticed, Ichbin said to use this is the top, side or bottom position.  Am I missing something?  Since when do we have a bottom position?  Is this the new beta version of TP?

ZarPrime

Hi twister,

Yes, after TP 0.98, additional panel types were added to TP.  Besides Front Page blocks, we now have left, right, upper (formerly center), lower, Top and bottom panels.  The 2 panels on my site that use the Avatars Online code are in the upper and bottom panels.

Oh great and I just paid someone to upgrade all my mods, but that was not included, ahhhhhhh

ZarPrime

It's really not that difficult to do.  If the package Manager will let you uninstall TP 0.98, you can do that and then install the TP 1.0 Beta 3 package.  If there's errors you can easily uninstall 0.98 manually and then try installing the new beta through the Package Manager.  Before you start though, make sure to backup your database.  Might be a good idea to backup your entire SMF folder as well just in case you make a mistake.

Oh it is in beta.  Ok now I don't feel stupid for not knowing.  I will wait for a bit I think.

ZarPrime

Well, 0.98 was a beta as well.  All public versions of TP are beta right now.  However, Beta 2 had a lot of bugs in it that have been fixed in beta 3.  The 1.0x versions all have a lot more features than 0.98 but if 0.98 suits you and works good for you then it won't hurt to leave it at that for awhile longer.

The roadmap is a little behind right now because we have been busy but you can take a look at it here and it will at least tell you some of the new things in 1.0x ---> http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/page,roadmap.html
