I would advise against spamming the board to increase post count so you can make changes to profiles, and wait for IchBin or Bloc to come up with a workable solution.

Having the 10 post permission enabled, keeps spambots from signing up and adding links/spam to their profile. It also makes it so that they can't PM anyone with SPAM. In a war against spam, I'm inclined to side with fighting spam and take a little criticism from the users. If you don't like it then feel free to remove your account, or post 10 replies in the chit chat board. The only time annoucnements get sent out is for the monthly theme releases and when a new beta gets released. If you received 3 emails, then it is most likely you have multiple accounts on this site. Regardless, you won't be receiving another email until next month. Monthly news announements are not spam in the real world, only in your world.

You did fine Xeross. I personally, don't care if someone posts a few miscellaneous posts to get to 10 in the chit chat board.

Thats fine.. I understand why you did it.. But if everybody does the same because they want to disable Newsletters.. I'm one of the people who will go and delete those posts. It's frowned upon to increase post count so people can circumnavigate the restrictions put in place.. Not because it's your fault, but because of Spam.

It was done to restrict new members being able to insert spam into Signatures.
Unfortunately it has other side effects.

It's just that I received an e-mail from TinyPortal.net on 18th and 20th february, an unlucky coincidence for me who has registered quite recently. So I was in a bad mood when I came here and wrote my first post (sorry)...
But please be aware that there are some (shy) people who register on this forum to read a few posts, and quite luckily don't get any issue using TP, and so don't have any particular reason to post...

Personally, I find it incredibly odd that someone would want to disable announcements here anyway.  I'm sorry, but if a person is interested in TinyPortal enough to subscribe to the forum, they should want to receive announcements about new releases.

ZarPrime, I have  to agree with you...  Two e-mail's that announce two different product releases to me is not SPAM.  Now, if there were 15-20 emails over two days... then maybe.  JMHO....

Actually, now that I remember its actually 5 posts if I remember right. lol Changed your post count just for you. 5 posts isn't asking much. It gives us just enough time to catch a spammer before they post their crap.

i had interest in TP when i signed up(Look at reg date it's 2 years ago).
ATM i don't but when i need it again i don't have to make an account again
