Unable to Install TP on SMF 1.1.8

Hi all,

This is a brand new installation. Using Fantastico, I install SMF 1.1.7 followed by and upgrade to 1.1.8. I then uploaded TP 1.0.6 beta 2 into Packages and CHMOD all the directories including a temp directory to 777.  I tried installing TP before upgrading to 1.1.8 but both gave the same results.

When I then click on the "Apply Mod" it shows all the files are tested successfully. I then click "Install Now" and after a few seconds, I get blank browser. When I click on the website url, then >Admin, I don't see TP at all!!  It's as if nothing happened. When I go back to the Package Browser, TP mod is still showing "Apply Mod" instead of uninstall.

Any help would be appreciated.

Server configuration issue. I'm assuming you would have this problem with most mods. Way to many things can cause this to list. I would suggest you just do a manual install.How do I manually install TinyPortal

Well, you could try some of the suggestions at SMF to see if they would work first. Things like creating a temp directory in the packages directory, making sure it is 777 at each installation phase as you install. There are other things too you could try. Take a look at SMF, I'm sure you'll find some suggestions.

IchBin, I tried that  but in any case I am now commited to a manual install. Just a quick question.

Which "tp-version" should I look in if I want to install TP 1.0.6 beta 6?

I only see the following tp-versions in that folder,

a) tinyportal1010-1056.mod
b) tinyportal1020-1056.mod
c) tinyportal1048-1056.mod
d) tinyportal1050-1056.mod
e) tinyportal1056.mod

Hi IchBin,

Managed to get it installed and it worked! Off course now I see that beta 3 is out!!! Looks like I get to hone my skills in manual updating again!!!!
