Sorry this is probably an SMF type question but ive had it posted there a month or so but still hav'nt fixed this, my final nagging problem, on my site.

Ive been trying to identify and remove the tablebg from a very specific part of thr forum, mainly the area under a board where you have glossary of topic pics, new topic, hot topic etc, as the bg image i use doesnt work with my CSS settings;

Sooooo i used firebug and can see in the CSS that is part of the tablbg image, and in the left panel i can remove the background images (in firebug only) so it looks like this, which is perfect for me;

so i have this in my CSS;

/* These are used primarily for titles, but also for headers (the row that says what everything in the table is.) */
.titlebg, tr.titlebg th, tr.titlebg td, .titlebg2, tr.titlebg2 th, tr.titlebg2 td
{
   background-image: url(images/thin7.gif);
   background-color: #000;
   color: #ffffff;
   padding-left: 10px;
   padding-right: 10px;
}

but by changing that, it will effect all my headers?
But in which file/s can i make this alteration so that this is permenant to this specific part of the site? Any ideas greatly appreciated as ive spent hours and hours trying to get this sorted :( Another alternative i thought about was removing the section completely as i have a guide to the forum pics anyway (hot topics etc)

tyvm, and srry prob more an SMF issue

IchBin

Messageindex.template.php is the page you'll find that code on.

cepsi

cool thx will go through that, think i was looking in sources and display templates

cepsi

Thanks Ich!!!! woohoo exactly what i was after, just changed class="titlebg2">
to class=""> and now looks perfect :D

IchBin

For your reference.

index.template.php = header and footer of all pages in SMF
Boardindex.template.php = main page of forum
Messageindex.template.hp = topic listing page
Display.template.php = view topic page

The rest are pretty self explanatory, and should be named accordingly.

cepsi,

I noticed that you already did what Ichbin mentioned, at least I think you did.  I had to look at an old message to find the url to your site so that I could look at the problem first hand.

The problem is that the thin7.gif has somehow slipped into your style.css for the theme.

The original CSS in Fussilet's Dark 4 theme looks like this ...

/* These are used primarily for titles, but also for headers (the row that says what everything in the table is.) */
.titlebg, tr.titlebg th, tr.titlebg td, .titlebg2, tr.titlebg2 th, tr.titlebg2 td {
color: #fbfbfb;
font-style: normal;
background:  #454545;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
line-height: 14px;
}

In your style.css the same area looks like this ...

/* These are used primarily for titles, but also for headers (the row that says what everything in the table is.) */
.titlebg, tr.titlebg th, tr.titlebg td, .titlebg2, tr.titlebg2 th, tr.titlebg2 td
{
background-image: url(images/thin7.gif);
background-color: #000;
color: #ffffff;
padding-left: 10px;
padding-right: 10px;
}

If you remove the background-image line that should fix the problem.  It looks like you changed some other stuff in there too. so one other thing I would recommend is to change the background-color: #000 to #000000, or change it back to what is in the original css, which is background:  #454545;.

Hmmm, now that I look at it, I don't even see that thin7.gif in the original theme so you must have put that in yourself when you were doing edits to the theme.  Anyway, that is what was causing the problem.

Anyway, if doing what Ichbin suggested fixed the problem to your satisfaction, that's all that counts. :up:
