i am running   TinyPortal v0.9.8 &  SMF 1.1.8
when i make a new member group, anyone in that member group can't see the blocks, even after i check that the membergroup is in fact checked. when i looked in the database, i saw a missing parameter in the access part. the value is "0,,-2" and not sure what the -2 is , but i know the missing membergroup is in the commas. i manually added the membergroup id number and it worked. until i went to edit that block and saved. then it went back to a missing entry in the DB.

any clue why this is happening? a new forum, so not really any mods i can think of that would muck it up, just these 6.

1.   Arcadeworld Template    1.7
2.   nneonneo's AJAX ShoutBox    1.22
3.   E-Arcade    2.5.7
4.   SMF Media Gallery    1.5.4
5.   Todays Birthday    1.2
6.   TinyPortal    0.983

not sure where to begin looking to trouble shoot this and is anyone else having any problems like this??

Every block hplds it's own permission.
When you create a new one or edit an old one, you see the checkboxes for the memergroups you want to see the block or not

and i check the correct membergroup, hit save and it's not.  re-read please, i looked at the actual ,ysql database and it's not putting the membergroup id in

Any errors in the database ?  have you uploaded all files from the tp package manaually ?  If you installed TP through the package manager, did you get errors and still continued to install ? ( I know for a fact that ONE of your mods change the same line TP does, so atleast one error have been there in the list )
And if you got errors, did you manually fix these ?
And does it work if you use default core theme ?

knightdalejb

installed through the package manager and no errors on everything.
and yes it works with default core theme

Then it's your custom theme making your issues, you havent told us what theme, so i will send you to the theme creator and ask them to help you sort out why it's not working in that theme, but fine in Default core.

knightdalejb

ok, i went to uninstall TP and got these 3 errors (and i did NOT do the uninstall)
3.   Execute Modification   ./Themes/default/index.template.php   Test failed
5.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/Subs.php   Test failed
11.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/Profile.php   Test failed

should i be looking at these files? does this give you more of a hint?
