I want to upgrade my currently version of TP v0.9.8 to TP v.1.0.6 beta 2
Now I had to upgradt from SMF 1.1.4 to 1.1.8 in the same process and when I was about to run the installation of TP, I ran into this error:
An Error Has Occurred!
This package cannot be uninstalled, because there is no uninstaller!

Please contact the mod author for more information.

I then searched the forum for any help and saw I had to go back to SMF 1.1.5 to be able to get it working. Unfortunally that didn't help me.
I have tried really allot of things, to see what I can do. But it doesn't look too well   :-\

I think this post is the closest to what I can do, but without any luck.
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php/topic,26014.0.html

Aspis writes "I had to downgrade SMF to 1.1.5 (uninstalled the update), then I could uninstall TP 0.9.8..."
I come to "SMF 1.0.13 / 1.1.5 / 2.0 b3.1 Update" where I then get an error too and am stuck with SMF 1.1.6

I got to say it is a community forum and I have FTP access and full administrator access but no MySQL access.
Is there anything that I have missed, that I could do ?

I've checked the DOCS and also checked Manually installation, but still find conflicts in the files, meaning the find strings doesn't allways look as described and the insert strings sometimes allready in the files.    :o

Don't know if anyone have an idea to what and how I can solve this little problem I have ?

In the link you posted the answer is given. All you need to do is download TP 0.9.8 again, and upload it replacing your existing zip in your packages directory.

I have tried installing TP 0.9.8.3 over and over again, to see if there was something that I've missed. But I keep getting this error that there is no uninstaller.
Quote
5.TinyPortal0.983[Uninstall]
6.SMF 1.0.12 / 1.1.4 / 2.0 b1.1 Update1.0[Uninstall]
7.SMF 1.0.13 / 1.1.5 / 2.0 b3.1 Update1.0[Uninstall]
8.SMF 1.0.14 / 1.1.6 Update1.0[Uninstall]
9.SMF 1.0.15 / 1.1.7 Update1.0[Uninstall]
10.SMF 1.0.16 / 1.1.8 Update1.0[Uninstall]

Everytime I click Uninstall of TinyPortal, I get .....
QuoteThis package cannot be uninstalled, because there is no uninstaller!

Please contact the mod author for more information.

And I can only uninstall
8.SMF 1.0.14 / 1.1.6 Update1.0[Uninstall]
If I do the uninstall "SMF 1.0.14 / 1.1.6 Update",  I get the error saying "Unable to find package file!"
So I'm stuck with SMF 1.1.6 and can't move on from that point.

FUBAR

Have you tried to overwrite the package via FTP with the latest version of 0.98?

Check this post

You might actually find this entire thread useful.

Thanks FUBAR
Looks like a good option and guidens to solve the issue I have. Thou I'm a bit affraid, cause in the process of replacing the changed files, I ran into a new FTP error saying that I was not allowed to overwrite a few of the files ..... No idea what happend.
So I had to restore to the original files again.
But I was wondering, wouldn't it be possible to replace the TP_0983 files with the TP106_beta2 files and change the main SMF files to run the new TP ?

Just a thought. Unfortunally SMF don't have a manual install instructions for TP, but do TinyPortal have one ?
Or would that be the one I've allready tried, that I couldn't get to work .....

Thy73, you don't need to replace ALL the files. All you need to replace is the ZIP file that is in the pachages folder.
