links in email notifications

Small issue. When I get an email notification about a reply to a thread I am watching rather than open up my email client i use my email notification software[Poptray--very sweet] and just copy and paste the link without downloading the message. Once in a blue moon it works,which means it CAN work.

I guess the question is why doesn't it work all the time like on other forums

Even waiting 5 minutes after getting the email does not help.

You're asking us why your links don't work in poptray? I've never had any problems with the links in my email clients.

Not exactly. I am asking why only links from tp forum don't work . All other forum links work as expected=meaning copy and paste works. Just not here,for me anyway.

Poptray is an email notification program where you view emails on the server before you download them or delete them from the server without ever downloading them. it is not like OE or Eudora.

This is what I always get when I copy and paste the link.

Not Found
The requested URL /smf/index.php=3Ftopic=3D2814.new;topicseen was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Even if I click on it in the preview I still get the no page to display.


Does it work for you. If so it is a problem on my end. I don't know. Just asking.

No problem Q, I was just stating that I never have that problem in an email client. So IMO, it must be something to do with poptray. I've used that program before, but I don't know what would cause that.
