I have a need to display a page from another site. doing this is easy enough, but...

How do I make it so it will open on the main page, and leave say the left blocks in place? To where when you click the link, the center and right blocks are gone, and it displays the linked page in there.

I actually wish to do this for a few things... call pages not associated with smf or tp, how do i display them in the tp main page?

Use the articles feature. Add a php article and use an include tag.\

include "link/to/your/page.html";

Omniverse

Ahh, ok, I see how that works now :) Thanks.

One thing though.... I can't get it to work hehe :(

here is what I put in:

include ("http://www.rpgoutfitter.com/wow-gm-rs/guild.cfm?guild=Pantheon@Alleria");

All I get is a blank page, any ideas?
Sorry I'm a noob at php, but its sposed to be easy to learn right? :P

It works on my site. Make sure you select the block type to be a phpbox.

You can see it in action here.

hmm, ok, i goto manage articles. click on add php.

and just put that line I showed in right? Still blank...

Don't get why its not working. I also notice it messes up the internal links for that page... anyway to fix that?.. course that could wait till I actually got it to show :)

IchBin

If you can give me a link to your site and allow me to submit articles I can test it myself if you'd like..?

I still don't see why the other method wouldnt work. I had the same issue with rss feeds (not being able to do it the simple way :)

After playing on my site a bit, any ideas why it wouldnt work for me?

IchBin

No ideas m8. I tried serveral different ways of typing the code out with an include statement. I hope someone else can take a look at this.
