Oh and changing id to class makes all the formatting go away or does nothing at all and still looks bad in FF, gosh I hate FF!

Xarcell

FF is alot better than IE, but most people don't know any better and still use IE. IE just won't read code or images correctly sometimes, which means alot of bugs. Some of which cannot be fixed.

Personally, I think the google browser is the best.

As far as the formatting, first things first. The xhtml needs to be correct, before you worry about the css.

"id" is great if you want to add it to some like "all div's" or "all tables" within  a template, not just certain ones. If you want different div's to different, than use a class.

That link I posted in the previous post will allow you to check your code to make sure it's valid. It's doesn't always tell you properly where the errors are, but when you begin to understand xhtml better, you'll be able to locate your errors faster.

Ok I have fixed the header and footer areas, and the wrapper looks good in both browsers, it is now down to the inner containers and I am about to pull my hair out!! Anyone??

(my index.htm code as you can't upload a htm file??)

<div align="left"><font size="4">WELCOME TO MY SMURF COLLECTION WEBSITE!!!</font><br />
        <br />
        <strong>Here you will find pictures of most of my collection and a history
        of the smurfs. Also there is the links page with links to other smurf
        websites, character pvc sites and sites where you can buy pvc smurfs and
        others. This site is mainly about smurf pvc collectibles, although it
        does have other Smurf collectible items featured.<br />
        <br />
        Honestly, I am really not sure how this all started, but I know it has
        been about 4 years now. When I started out re-collecting I hadn't any
        smurfs at all. On a lark one day after thinking about past childhood happy
        stuff, I did a search on eBay for smurfs and there they were, and the
        rest is history!<br />
        <br />
        The bulk of what you see on my site has been bought in the last two years.
        The other character collectibles I have been acquiring over the years
        and could never seem to give up ... now I am glad I didn't. There are
        quite a few recent additions to them as well!<br />
        <br />
        The Smurfs are still being produced today, even though some think they
        went away in the '80s ... they didn't, they just left the sight of collectors
        in the USA. Smurfs are still just as popular in Europe as they have always
        been since they first appeared in 1958. So look around and enjoy! This
        website is continually being updated, and changes occur even when you
        are looking at a page. Check back often so you don't miss out on new arrivals

Post some details blue. Show me a page with your problem, and I'll show you what you need to do. Right now I have no idea what you're "inner containers" problem is.

Hey Ich - thank you for the offer, but it is fixed now!! I joined a webforum for coding in xhtml and css and there was a guy/girl(?) there who helped point me in the right direction!

Take a look - It finally renders the same in IE and FF and Opera and Safari!! WOO HOO!!!  :2funny:
