Question about Basic Theme by Crip

Hi all, I am reposting this in this section, I hope that's ok

Firstly, thank you for creating the theme Basic, I love it - really good stuff Smiley
I have one small problem at the moment and am hoping you can help me out.
On Basic, some of the text appears to be black on a black background (you can see this easily if you click any help box).
Now, I have been told to add .popuptext{color:white;} to my style.css for the theme, which I have done.
This fixes the text color, but also makes all my gradient graphics (borders / button backgrounds) vanish.
I hope you can help!
P.S. The text is also black on a black background in parts of TP too.
