Front page as Initial page

Could someone give me some idea of some of the settings that determine whether or not the user will see the "Front Page" immediately after login (ie instead of the forum)?  I have my SMF/TP install setup as a members-only site.  I want it to be setup so that immediately after login, users see the "Front Page" but right now users see the Forum instead.   

My install is SMF 1.1.6 with TP 1.0.5 beta 1

I setup the site as "Members Only" by unclicking "Allow guests to see the forum" in SMF and setting up a category with guest access disabled.  Featured article is in this category and Front page is set for "featured articles and front page blocks".

Uncheck the catbox with "go directly to forum" in your TP admin/frontpage  and the frontpage will be the opening page instead of the forum

Actually, the "What to display on Front Page" is set to "Featured article and front page blocks".   This seems to be an intermittent bug ...this morning it went right to the front page; then I logged-out and logged back in again and it went to the Forum Index.   If someone is familiar enough with the source level code, I could put in debug code to print variable values to a file on disk to get to the bottom of this.  I did modify my index.template.php to put in a custom header/menu...

I'm not sure I understand that correctly....
    Is it saying that the function call:
                       redirectexit($setLocation = '', $refresh = false, $tp_not = true)
    ...would do a redirect to front page on login also (not just on exit) ...and that "$tp_not=true" specifies this redirect to FrontPage?

bump on this, having same issue.

when you click logout, or you actually login, the first thing it does is take you to the forum site.
This is not something i want because i'm trying to use TP as the main site feature, so the news posting on the front page is where i want them taken to after login in or out.

I had this on 1.0.52 and i just updated to 1.0.63, as well as the known bug of breaking the news postings which does not show title, auther etc. (and for some reason now stops showing categories icons)
