I can't figure out what to search, I've tried for about two hours now, I'm sorry this might be somewhere out there but I can't find it. So here comes the question:

The idea of using tiny portal to me was to make the site match with the forum. So basically I lets say I want some simple HTML code or just a text, a special page. Like adding a "About us" page, with some text about us. I'd like to know if it's possible doing this using TP? Because I still want all the TP blocks to show in the "About us" page.

I found a mod that adds links in menu, which makes me able to add a aboutus.html file, but that would remove the possiblity of having the blocks on same page, right? I don't know if I'm confusing you but I hope you understand what I want!  :buck2:

An article page may be what you need because it would be able to display any content (html, bbc or php) and give you the option of displaying your blocks as well.

There are also some mods and code snippets available to give you 'about us' style pages.

this is something that can be accomplished with using articles, you could have what ever blocks you wanted showing on that page, have a look at TinyPortal Doc's Board to give you more of an incite

*edit Ken beat me to it*

I succeeded in adding an article, but somehow when I preview it it doesn't show. Only if I have the "Toggle show on frontpage" actived, that's the only way I can see it, and on frontpage. I want it not shown there and a possible link to it like ?action=about and then I also would like to add a menu button with this link. Is that what "add menu item" is for?

Ken.

Not sure that I understand your question but if you are saying that you have no link in your navigation for the new article that would be correct.

It will as you say show on the front page if set to do so, but if you want it to show somewhere else you must add a button to your navigation or add a link to a menu in order for someone to be able to find it.

There's a function called "Preview" when I click it my added article is showing blank, nothing. Doesn't work. Although when I tell it to show on the frontpage, then I see it on the frontpage. Any idea what is causing this?

Do you have your article in a category?

What is the URL in your address bar after you click the "Preview" link?

This is url "index.php?page=4". No I don't have a category, is that nessesary?

Ken.

Articles must be in a category for them to display correctly.
