I just installed smf 1.16 and tp 1.0.5 and for some reason i cant change the position of blocks within a panel. no matter what i do they stay the same. I gave a friend admin permissions and he can move them with one click doing the same thing i tried. when i click the up or down arrow under position it refreshes but doesnt move. Is there a reason for this? a setting i have incorrect? thanks in advance for any replies

I am not sure on this, but try using SHIFT-F5 to hard-refresh the cache for your browser.

There were some similar issues before that required clearing the cache to get things right...

thanks for the reply again. I tried Shift+F5 with no luck. I tried to clear all my internet browsing history also with no luck. Those are the only buttons that dont seem to work on the panels and blocks page. I can move the blocks to a different panel just not to a different spot within the panel. thanks again.

We'll have to wait for the 1.05 gurus to assist on this matter.

Be sure to check through the search and bugtracker for reported issues that may help you in the meantime. ;)

I can say that using Firefox3 gives me all kinds of fits in the admin section. I went back to FF2 for that reason.
Try it in IE and see if it works. If you're already using FF2 or IE, then I'm of no help.... :o

Hard refrech is not enough.

You need to clear the cache, and temp internet files, then restart the browser

I tried that too.Nothing different. And I am using IE. I guess for now I will just rely on my friend to move the blocks for me..lol. Thanks for the replies.

I've been doing it a different way that you might try. Change the numbers to the left of the blocks instead of using the arrows. If you have three blocks numbered 0, 10 and 20, changing the second number to 25 and hitting enter will renumber them with the second block as 20 and the third block as 10, and switch their order. Hope that helps.

Glad I could help.
I think the arrows are a browser thing. I get different results with each browser. Check your javascript settings, too.
