I installed  the .983 version on SMF 1.1.6.

It seemed to work fine. It said everything checked out OK on the Apply Mod screen so I went ahead and Installed it and it showed the screen on top of my forum as if it completed. I'm talking about the screen that shows that it created such and such database entries and then said just restart your forum. I did and there is no admin area with the Tiny Portal settings. I checked the folders of SMF and it didn't add any files in the install folder or didn't even edit any of the theme files or sources files. It did, however, make the database adjustments.

Now it has the uninstall button in the packages screen but it won't let me because it shows the errors in the files that it checks. So I don't wanna push the button until I know it is alright.

What to do?

Blank Admin Panel or Text missing?

I honestly looked all over for a search button couldn't locate it.

I saw the missing text thread but I don't think applies to me. My files never got edited. They have the same previous modification dates on them. The ones that end in a ~ do however have recent modification dates one them

I even checked the Default Forum Language and it is and has been set to English.

The search button is in the main menu in the forum drop down. As for your problems, sounds like you need to go through the manual install to make sure all the edits and files have been done.

I had to rename the zip file and upload it again in the package manager and install it again. It said it was already installed and that there was no upgrade but I backed up my files and did it any. It worked correctly this time. The only problem is I now have 2 uninstall buttons in the package manager now. Not that big of a deal I guess.

BTW, and I did just search and got no results, is there a way to start out the sidebar minimized rather than open and allowing people to maximize it on their own? I only use the left sidebar for one block. Most people would prefer to not see it so I'd rather have it minimized by default but I'm not sure how that's done.

Hi mate.
The default minimization of a panel is discussed here Im sure.
I remember having it done on an old site of mine.
You might ave to put a few different querys into the search function in order to find it.
Sorry I couldnt be of more assistance.
But knowing the solution is here somewhere, is better than not knowing :D ;)

Or you could disable the left panel, and add that block to your right??
Just a thought.
Good luck

The only mention of it I could find was a post that stated that it couldn't be done.

So I just worked around it by adding a new option in the profile area and then added to the conditional around the leftbar code. Viola.
