All-

I'm trying to figure out how to get intro text to work.  I'm assuming this lets me have some lead-in text for an article, then they click the article and they get to read the whole thing.  Is that the idea?

Anyway, I type something in the Intro Text box, I click "Use intro text", and then when I save the article, "use intro text" gets turned off.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Sorry.. I have posted here a lot and didn't think the template was relevant.  But here is the information you requested.

Link to my site: http://sohguild.org/
SMF version: 1.1.5
TP version: 1.0.5
Theme name and version: any (confirmed problem using Default template)
Mods installed: none
Related Error messages: none

I think I am asking more generally if there is something in particular I need to do, in order to get intro text to work.  Because when I click the radio option to "use intro text", and save the article, it resets from yes to no.

Did you try the search? This has been covered before. Don't forget to search the bug tracker linked up top. THe guidelines are a must. Not knowing what version you're using or not having a link to see it is imperative. Otherwise you can have multiple different answers. If people follow these guidelines we don't have to ask all the questions just to get enough information out of them to be able to help.

Looks like I managed to stumble on another known issue.

By the way, do you folks know that the Search box gets disabled when I go to this forum?  It seems to only be available from the index.

Yes, on default it is set that wayas all searches should be made from the frontpage as it will show all posts, if you only have it available in a topic, only that topic will return the search hits, and that is not good at all.

There's also the Search button in the menu. :D
