I haven't seen any other reply to the post I made in the Team board, other than G6's.

Did you go through the Manual Installation Guide? It isn't going to fix itself.

DonaldDasher

OK, I'll give it a go, although I must say I find that rather daunting :(

DonaldDasher

Can you run me through what I need to do to check that it's installed properly? I'm rather confused about this to be honest.

DonaldDasher

Just noticed this:

QuoteOPEN FILE:
$themedir/index.template.php

This file isn't in the actual "Themes" folder - each specific theme however as this file, so which one do I need to check as I've installed quite a few?

The guide refers only to the Default Core Theme.

I've just spent ages going through each and every file and I cannot see any errors or omissions. In other words, TP has been correctly installed.

So... can anybody help me diagnose the problem I'm having with setting up categories and allocating articles to them as I'm now at a loss as what to do next.

Zetan

I haven't forgotten about your site. I know it can be a daunting task going through the Manual Install Guide, but it's a task that many other people have to endure at one time or another.

These are the responses from G6 and Bloc in the Team boards:

I have a member who can't assign Articles to Categories. I have physically been over to his site and I have had no success either. He has requested that somebody on the development team offer an opinion.

If i remember correctly that is a bug, where the temp solution were to remake the articles and save them to the categories. there were no way to assign old articles to new categories.

Hmm. Okay, I'll give that a try. Thank you  :)

Hmm.. Actually, I created a new test Article and a new Category and still no joy.

Beta 1? It should be better in beta 2, I have been testing it a bit these last days without internet :P :)

Thanks again.

We've noticed that the forum as a whole has become very slow.  Take a look at the 'forum error log' in the admin section - there are 267 pages! It's never normally more than a couple of pages when people forget their passwords etc.

The recurring error seems to be
8: Undefined index: num_hidden_users_online_today
File: /homepages/13/d87196669/htdocs/Themes/default/languages/TPShout.english.php (eval?)
Line: 469

I've switched the theme from Musiconica back to forum default for the time being. Here are some user's comments.

When will Beta 2 be available for download BTW?

Zetan

Well, I did notice that the forum was running a little slow yesterday, I put that down to the mangey copper wire we have for an internet connection at work.

There is no set release date for any future versions. They are in progress.
You seems to have a few errors which could be caused by some mods, the TPshoutbox has had some known bugs, if you look through the Bugtracker here at TP.net.

You could backup the site, upload new files from SMF and then install TP again, fresh. The database wont be harmed at all, but you have will a fresh install and you can then add some select mods and themes.
